Only nineteen pages to go.

We're getting into our new schedule for the next few weeks, as Elizabeth works Saturday and Sunday every weekend and is off during the week to be with Drew (and keep this house running), and I continue working weekdays (things really cranking up at the new job, in a good way) and watching Drew on weekends.

It'll be this way until the workshop I'm attending in mid-May, then things should settle down a bit. Well, maybe by June...

Drew got caught up on a lot of sleep today (he just went down a half hour ago or so, giving me the change to squeeze out my one page of prose, plue a 4-hour nap this a.m.), and I got caught up on some house stuff -- baby gates, watering our pieces of sod out front with the sprinkler, cleaning and all sorts of writing-avoidance.

It's absolutely beautiful out here, almost too warm for April -- friggin' 88 degrees already! Drew and I ran some errands this afternoon, then we hung out in the yard with Whit, who stayed around quite nicely as we finished watering some ragged bits of sod. As much as it sucks not having Elizabeth around with us, it's been great to hang out with Drew like this, and just goof around with him -- his personality continues to develop into a wonderful presence.

He's hilarious -- I was carrying in groceries this afternoon, and every time I went back to the car for a load he'd stand in the doorway, shouting "Dadd-ddeee!" and then he'd run back into the house when he saw me coming back. Too fun.

Luckily the kid sleeps 4-5 hours during the day, or I'd be worn slam out.

And the good news about all busy work is that tomorrow I can just write, with no chores calling out to me to distract me... Later!
