More pixel-staining!

One more late addition to the International Pixel-Stained Technopeasant Day fun, a day late -- you can now read the three-way collaborative monster that Greg van Eekhout, Tim Pratt, and I put together a while back:

"Gillian Underground" -- FREE!

Greg and Tim and I wrote this story "flaming rodent" style -- Tim had the opening from a stalled-out story starter, and he tossed to me (or was it Greg?), and I wrote a scene and tried to get our hero Gillian into trouble, then tossed it (like one would toss a flaming rat, for instance) to Greg to deal with. Back and forth like that, until we had a pretty little mess, and fun, cool story about the underworld and honkytonk bars and mythical beasts with horns. Tim pulled the final version of the story together like the master he is, Greg polished it, and I said "Nice work, guys!"

You can find links to MORE FREE STORIES from Wheatland Press at the top of their home page.

And while you're there, check out the other fine stories from the anthology where the story debuted: Polyphony 5. And buy some of the other wonderful books made from Wheatland Press, like the other Polyphony anthologies, the Zeppelin antho or the Nine Muses anthology.

Tons of great stories there, and the "Spring Cleaning Sale" of buy one, get one free is still going on! Lucky you!

And now I get to use that cool image again:
