Day off. Sort of.

Okay, is this thing on?

There we go. Yeah. Doing the journal thing. Hmm.

June is almost over, and not a single journal entry from me, other than my sneaky little YouTube entry. Haven't had a lot to report, other than the new job taking up most of my time. Yow. But things are settling down, at last, so I'm not firing up my laptop every night once Drew is in bed. No more working until 11 p.m., catching up on emails and support issues.

I actually had the day off today, to do some odds and ends (nothing exciting), and I found myself sort of drifting, not having a million things to do. I had thought about heading over to Chapel Hill and just hanging out there for a few hours, but the temps read 97 degrees, and I just didn't have the energy for it. So I went on home after my appointment, read, and enjoyed an afternoon of lethargy and reading, while thunderclouds rolled overhead without releasing any rain.

Interesting, how adapted you can become to being busy-busy-busy, that it's hard to do anything else. I'm wondering if maybe this weekend I can try to do some writing again. I'd love to work on my revamping of my Sixteen Miles novel (changing the 1st person chapters for one of my three narrators to 3rd person -- thrilling, I know).

I can't seem to not check my work mail when I'm not at work -- that's how bad it's gotten. I think I don't want to miss anything!

Speaking of missing something, some of you may have missed the following news -- we're having a little boy! Here's a photo of young Mitchell Jasper, due in mid-November -- enjoy!

See how Mitch compares to the same shot of his older brother. We're gonna have a house full of boys, plus Lizzie. Should be fun! Mitch is healthy and active and handsome -- Yay!

If that wasn't the most random, rambling journal entry ever, I don't know what a journal entry is...! Later!
