Gray day, getting better

Woke up in time to see the last of the rain, but not early enough to miss the grayness. Luckily, the following image was waiting in my email:

Very cool. I love the image, even if it's a little obscured by the text. Hey, at least the text is very nice words about the stories inside. I'm looking forward to reading the other stories in there, and of course, seeing my story in there, "Painting Haiti." Looks to be a great lineup, thanks to editor E. Sedia.

In other news, I had just about finished up my synopsis for Sixteen Miles, thanks to excellent comments from fellow writers Lee and Jay, and then I realized I'd either saved my fixes to the wrong file or accidentally dragged my fixed-up version to the garbage can. Dang it! I hate re-writing stuff I'd already fixed. My goal is to finish that today. Maybe tomorrow.

At least most of my ARCs are out to various sources for potential review. I updated the Wannoshay page with links to the PDF and HTML versions of chapter one, and chapters two and three will be coming out there in the next 2 weeks. Still have to make some calls to area libraries (more on that later!) and bookstores. Ugh. Hate making phone calls, feeling like a bad snake-oil salesman...

And I'm getting a little tired of the promotional stuff for that book, as excited as I am about it finally seeing print. I'm getting antsy to start Something New. I just have to figure out what that Something New is gonna be. Later!
