x-men comics

I enjoyed the x-men movies quite a bit, so I decided to go back in time and start reading the comics. I found a book that collected the first 24 issues with only black and white drawings. It's probably missing a little something without the color, but I have to give a thumbs up so far. I like the characters, and it's a good escape. I like how the early portrayal has the jostling teenage feel, and there are some funny lines here and there taking a poke at the larger culture's view of young people.

All this from someone who can't remember if he's read any other comic book through before. From what I gather, most people think the series is even better when you get to Chris Claremont's issues, starting with #94. We'll see if I make it that far.
