My ode to Jake Gyllenhaal...

Dear Jake,

Like your character in "Brokeback Mountain" says, I wish I knew how to quit you. But damnit, now that I've seen you half-naked and all cowboyed up, wrestling around with Heath Ledger and herding sheep...well, I just plum don't think I can quit you. And hoowee, I don't think I wanna.

SM and I today saw the most masculine, violent, yet sensitive movie I've seen in a long time. I haven't seen a movie that portrays love - gay or not - in such a hot, sweet and heart-wrenching way in years. Due in large part to your general wonderfulness, Jakey. (Heath, too, was amazing, but SM and I sorta decided that I got you, and she would get him. At least in the delusional utopia of our minds.)

Beautiful acting. Beautiful chemistry with Heath. Beautiful body. (Okay, that's not the point.) Bravo. See you at the Oscars where, although I'm not sure you'll be nominated, you'll at least be one of those actors this year whom people will say things about like, "Gosh, he was amazing. But there were just so many great performances this year." I'm sure you'll nod your hot head and smile graciously.

Love,
Christine

p.s., wanna go "fishing?" You just bring your rod...
