"We are all afraid and in great need of two-ness to face life. Love is a recognition of the Thou. A need of the Thou. Somehow or other, I always lose my guide halfway up the mountain. I don't think I am looking for a man but for a god. I am beginning to feel a void which must be the absence of God. I have deified man. One after another, I have called for a guide, a father, a leader, a sustainer. I have a husband, protector, lovers, a father, comrades, but I still miss something. It must be God. But I hate God the abstraction. I want God in the flesh, the incarnate God with strength and two arms and a sex. And no imperfections. Which proves I have got my human and my divine loves mixed, and that they won't mix, and that the quicker I seperate God from man, the better for the men I love. I have loved genius, which comes closest to divinity." Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
