2006-07-16 8:31 PM blood's thicker than the mud.... Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Excited Read/Post Comments (0) so today i met one of my brothers, dori, (and his lovely wife rosie) for the first time. i dont think i have to tell you how absolutely nauseaous with anticipation i was. i put on some belle and sebastian to settle myself and drove up to dickson city to meet them at johnny rockets. i was ok til i pulled into the parking lot, and then i thought i was going to throw up. i saw them get out of their car and i just started to move forward and those first few seconds were so surreal. we hugged and both said 'wow' like a thousand times and hugged some more. he is such a lovely person, very genuine and sincere and sweet. i think he was shaking more than i was!
we sat down and he and rosie exchanged glances when i ordered a vanilla coke and chicken fingers with ranch, because that apparantly the only thing my other brother, cody, eats. found out that the ridiculous love of cartoons seems to be genetic (he even loves the tick!). we talked about everything we could fit into a few hours. they are both 22 and already thinking about having kids (auntie mel!!!) and cody (who i meet next weekend) is 18 and sort of the wild card of the family (gay and aimless). i told them i would give him some solid big-sisterly advice, cause they have no idea how much of a bad influence i can be. we headed over to borders to get some beverages and wander and talk more and i got updates on folks i barely remember. and it was just wonderful and overwhelming. at one point i had to use the bathroom at borders (excited pee) and the song that was playing was 'the rainbow connection' and i thought, 'yeah, this is just right...' i'm somebody's sister!!!!
