Well, its another year, and I find myself smiling at yet another stranger snoring on my shoulder. I say “Awwww” and he doesn’t even open his eyes as he smiles and mumbles, “Shut up.” So much more to him than meets the eye, an amazing dichotomy of tender and hooligan. I write these love letters to him, and then don’t give him the link. It’s a little too early to show all these cards. The more he reveals to me, the faster I fall. The past few weeks have been a whirlwind of laughter and seductions and I will never stop being surprised. I may actually have a Valentine’s Day that isnt a complete train wreck.

So many good times - good meals, good bands, good company...

One evening we attended a local production of “Rocky Horror.” Midway through the show, Frank-n-furter had to exit the stage near us, and he stopped, drew a finger under rockaBilly’s chin and purred “You are soooo cute.” He turned 3 shades of red and had a great laugh about it. And he doubted my word...

Another night, we went to see an 80s hair metal cover band. We ate, drank, and socialized, and then I go the look. He pulled me towards the door and we drunkenly kissed in the hallway, while the band mangled a definitely-not-80's Doors tune. I get to see a blue and purple sky the next morning, while Hope Sandoval’s hypnotic voice fills the car. I don’t think I’ve seen this many sunrises in the last 10 years. My thoughts as I drive home: He told me I had Helen of Troy eyes. I can’t believe I can sleep with him snoring. I can’t believe he heard me snore. And burp. And he still likes me. I want to lick his tattoos (again). I am so afraid of this. I am smitten. Thank you universe. The dude abides.
