outtamyhead
sometimes it all comes outtamyhead, and sometimes i'm just outtamyhead. period.

i guess i started this journal thingy out of boredom at a job i used to have. i stay here because i've come to know and love some of the people i've "met". you know who you are!!!

live simply so that others may simply live

other stuff...

the woot canaw didna weawwy huwt too bad. and yes, you do sound like this after a root canal, just in case you've never had the pleasure.

i got many many many injections of numbing stuff, which didn't work - ouch - so i got some more in the mandible joint. i was numb for about 7 hours. i looked like i'd had a stroke (or so i was told). every time i opened my eyes the doc was poking another syringe in my mouth. it's not like i could feel it after the first couple, so ok. i'll take as much of that shit as he'll give me. duh!!!

i can't tell if my tongue is still numb from a slip of the needle, or if it's just burned to literal death from trying to test the soup that same night to see if it was too hot.

whattadumassiam.

how the hell can you tell if soup is too hot if your mouth is completely numb???

my dear hubby just continues to roll his eyes at me.

it's still sore, but the headaches and so forth are gone.

and i still have pain meds. *smiles*

i went to see the guy about cleaning his house today, and i got the job.

it's a huge 3 story in the historic part of downtown. the 3rd floor is only storage, so i don't have to worry about that.

he works for a company that builds web pages for political campaigns and said he might want to talk to my husband since he's a webmaster.

hmmm...the dude obviously makes quite a bit of moolah. his wife is a teacher in the private sector, so she probably does ok, but they have a house that's on the historic register, so he's obviously making some cash. does he want to pick dave's brain, or talk to him about a job, or maybe doing something on a consulting basis???

could be interesting at the least.

my hubby is totally not into politics, but we do like a bit of money now and then.

this guy works in d.c. from tues-thurs every week so i'll be going on mondays, or every other monday to clean. they have no children, just a dog, so that will be the crux of the "cleaning" - the dog hair, but i'm used to that, along with bathrooms and vacuuming, the usual stuff.

did i mention i love modern advances in toilet bowl cleaning? with all the products out there now, ya never have to actually touch the thing.

nice guy, very casual, seemed to be flexible and he said so. so i have a good feeling.

well, maybe not good, but definitely ok.

daughter's first track meet was last night. she didn't have any events since she missed a practice, but it was still fun.

it was more of a social event for her, which is ok by me. i got to hang out with her girlfriend's parents, and got to meet more of them. nice folks i guess.

the meets last from 5pm to about 8 or 9. as a newbie i didn't realize it's a tailgating kind of thing. people brought coolers full of food and blankets.

wonder if beer and vodka tonics are allowed on school property???

nah, i'd probably get in trouble, or embarrass my child at the very least. or both.

still, it was great to just be there, to enjoy the weather and the kids in near-complete abandon. even tho she didn't compete, there was lots of running around.

my son came by this morning and brought along his friend, ian, that he's living with. cute kid. red curly hair, skinny, hippy looking guy. irish. not directly from across the pond, but his heritage is irish, even his name. his eyes are beautiful. not brown, but amber, the color of a brown beer bottle.

nice kid.

seems like everyone i've met lately has been nice.

what about that???

since i had the appointment to look at the house to clean, and since i took my daughter out of school today (friday before spring break - it's a normal thing), she went with her brother and ian to an internet gaming cafe to play for a while. she felt so grown up. she had her cell phone and was all like "see ya later, mom".

who am i??? i guess it's practice for the time in the not too distant future when she'll forget she has a mom completely, save for the times she's hungry or hurt or sad. or needs money.

oh wait - it's that time already!!!

she had fun, and nigel actually told her it was fun hanging out with her and kicking her ass on video games.

i told ya, he's a sweet kid. formerly non-motivated, but sweet.

****

speaking of which, isn't it about happy hour time???

somewhere???

like here, on my patio, with the birds singing and the sun shining???

mmmmm, good beer.

peace and love. xoxo
