outtamyhead
sometimes it all comes outtamyhead, and sometimes i'm just outtamyhead. period.

i guess i started this journal thingy out of boredom at a job i used to have. i stay here because i've come to know and love some of the people i've "met". you know who you are!!!

live simply so that others may simply live

it's not even dark and i'm EAT UP with skeeter bites already. buggers, you little buggers!!!

our internet has been out since tuesday. lightning struck something somewhere on our building. our modem and router were fried. the elderly couple across the hall lost the whole computer plus a corded phone.

i hate it for them. i guess it's one of their lifelines to the outside world in the wintertime, especially.

i got another cleaning client today. a young couple just moved into a house downtown. it has THE most beautiful 150 year old hardwood floors i've ever seen. i mean, the most beautiful hardwood floors (which happen to be 150 years old) that i've ever seen.

they also have an 11 week old baby girl. i didn't get to see her - she was napping - but i could smell her all over the house. you know, that baby smell??? i don't think there's a better smell in all the world. i volunteered to babysit for them. katherine will love it as well.

i can tell they're going to be good to work for. i'd say they're about 30 or a bit younger, and pretty geeky in that oh so cute kind of way. very friendly and pretty casual.

when i told dave about their baby he said "you told her you'd clean for free, didn't you? just to get to be with the baby?"

well, no. but i won't be charging for babysitting!!!

speaking of babies, i have a baby shower to go to tomorrow afternoon. a young friend of mine from a church i used to go to. the babe is due september, and i can't wait!!!

i found the cutest little "leggings" for the little one (we know it's a girl) and i thought i'd offer my cleaning services too - a new mommy doesn't want or need to be scrubbing bathrooms - for free, of course, as part of her shower gift. i would have loved for someone to clean my house after giving birth.

"fargo" has got to be one of the funniest movies i've ever seen.

****

happy friday. xoxo
