the big dance

today is the after school dance for baby girl.

the one that her main squeeze, let's call him mud, asked her to go to.

she tried on at least 10 different outfits last night, and came up with some cute ones, and a couple that look too damn sexy for a 12 year old. i nixed those.

and yes, we did some stupid white girl dancing whilst trying on clothes, too.

she's going to be wearing one of MY tommy hilfiger shirts. a black cotton stretchy thing over a white tank top.

weird, that, that my daughter can wear some of my clothes. i guess i love/hate it, but at just 12, she's got curves in all the right places. i know i'm biased, but my kids ARE beautiful.

ok. moving on...

she said yesterday that she doesn't know what they'll do at the dance...probably not dance, but i've shown her how and how to do it appropriately, with only hand holding and a hand on his shoulder, and at least a foot of space in between them, just in case he asks.

she says they do talk to each other a lot these days, but that mud stutters and turns red in the face and smiles real goofy a lot. i asked her if she stutters and stumbles too. and she said "no mom, i'm better with boys than that"!!!!!!! argh. yes, she is.

this girl has got it goin on.

is that a good thing or bad thing???

anyhoo, i can't wait to pick her up at 6 and see how this dance goes.

OMG. it has begun. officially now.

if you've got some good thoughts and so forth, please forward them on. i don't know who needs 'em more, me or her?

or mud...that poor boy has no idea...

*squeal* gawd, i love it...!
