Yeah, I can't even get creative with the title for this entry.

I'm off the Hong Kong tomorrow. Since my father was born and raised there, I remember returning to the old British protectorate ever since I was born, every two to three years to visit my father's side of the family. (My father is the only one in his family who moved to Singapore.)

Even as a kid I found the place scary. The feeling hasn't disappeared much now that I'm older. Hong Kong is a huge and chaotic city. Cantonese is a language that apparently needs to be spoken 20 decibels louder than any other language on the planet (that I've heard). Tall buildings crowd everywhere, to say nothing of the people. Even in the natural areas of Hong Kong (they DO exist), I get a bit claustrophic from the mountainous landscape.

I think I won't go into the quality of Hong Kong's air or street cleanliness right now. I've been sick today, and those thoughts won't make me feel better...

I'll be there until this Sunday, and apart from visiting my relatives, I don't know what's going to happen or what I'm going to see. It seems typical of most of my trips to Hong Kong.
