Constantine / Shrek / Open Season

Constantine-- had seen this one a while back, but its worth a second (or third) look. its one of those movies that starts in high gear and never slows down. funny, people swear this is devil's advocate part two and it aint; theres a kind of shared plot, but this is a stand-alone movie from start to finish. a rare nine dead baby flick here.

Shrek-- does it count if I slept through a lot of the movie? ...I really liked shrek 2, so was excited to finally see the first film in the series (#3 is on the way, btw). Ill try to watch it today after I visit with my son & his family.

Open Season-- like shrek, this is a CGI film. out of the many recent films of this nature [cars, monster house, etc...), open season falls kinda short. they rely more on the novelty of computer generated images than plot. the actual motive behind this movie is bear-want-to-go-home, and that doesnt even start until the last third of the flick. it just dawdles along looking good but doing nothing.

the above movies (plus Monster Inc) came from my bud John. when I got home yesterday afternoon--between two jobs--I looked in my mailbox and saw nothing but bills...I figgered there'd be blockbuster flicks (real bad wanna see Net 2) but alas and alack there was none. I went to work with John and afterwards stopped at his house and borrowed some of his child's DVDs...but hey, I like cartoons as much as the next guy.

my son Shaun, his pretty wife Megan, and their adorable son [my adorable grandson--can ya dig it] Joshua are coming for an afternoon visit today. I hardly ever see these folks--they live in columbus (almost 3 hours away) and work extensive hours besides going to school--so visits are rather extra special. we'll prolly eat something, yak about bullshit, then say our bye-byes so he can boogie back home...Im excited, to tell the truth.

ummm, what else. how about stupid and potentially boring filler material? ...all my life Ive drank black coffee. no sugar, no cream, just bitter and black--like my women (sorry, couldnt stop myself)--but over the course of the last year or so Ive switched to doped-up java; 'heavy cream and sugar, please,' and I like it.

ummm ...my road, pipe creek, remains shut-down. the sign says long haired freaky people need not apply -----sorry----the sign says 'road will close on 7-17-07 for 120 days' which'd put reopening in mid-november, which sucks. I live exactly 3/4 a mile [roughly 3 minutes] from the highway, or rather I used to cuz now Im seven miles away ['bout 25 minutes of bad backroads]. believe me when I say this situation sucks. craps, I gotta think too far ahead or Ill run out of smokes. dammit, is what I say

ummm...okay, I believe Im out of uninteresting tidbits for now. maybe Ill take a quickie nap seeing as how I stayed up all night and rolled up wide awake with the alarm. I guess Ill be back later with more movie reports and any cool things that happened during the visit

ttyl
