heres a wee taste of "Seer" to give you an idea of the madness lurkin in my word files

Bain’s Thoughts had run weekly for five months, starting Monday during the first week of January, 2008, on an HP he’d received for Christmas. In that auspicious beginning he’d posted some crazy lyrically presented statements that when bent far out of context could be loosely attributed to real-life events, mostly vague lines that had to be bent really hard, but close enough to pull people in. His first quatrain had this as the third and forth lines:

White hail will stop the western bird

Its power blind for IV days.

Oddly enough, the next day a freakish winter storm slammed areas of northern California effectively shutting down airports and reeking havoc with power lines. Outages ensued in some areas, lasting as long as four days in some of the more remote places.

Billy could only laugh; he’d written that line (and quite a few others) with cocaine as his subject. The bird was what had popped into his mind as he racked his brain for a few words with the correct number of syllables. He’d spied a pigeon outside his window as he’d typed, that was all it took.

Ive been working on this damn thing for over a month [maybe more, I dunno for sure now] and have yet to connect the ending with the rest of the story. have it in my head but I just cant make it smooth enough on the page.

but I will finish this fucking thing if its the last thing I do.

theres tons of work to be done yet, and maybe 2 or 3 [or 4] nites a week I open the file and play for an hour or two...that seems to work best--instead of hammering constantly nightly. I do believe I burned-out on writing fiction because of that very reason. I wrote and wrote and wrote until one day I couldnt stand it anymore. thats why I leave it closed for days at a time...

by the way, it went from a [projected] 1000 word short to just shy of 4,000 words and theres still more story to tell. believe me when I tell you Im having fun. I dont care about the length, all I worry about is bridging the gap[s], getting my pronouns right, and trying for publication... Ill be looking for markets next.

wish me luck...
