was messin in my documents and come across some wildass stuff.

I'd thought I'd deleted a certain story from this pooter and put it on either floppy or cd...and was dismayed to realize I aint seen it in years. the story in question is The Blue Book (lame? yes. changable? certainly. publishable? are you outta yer fucking mind!) written somewhere in the summer of '01 and stopped roughly a year later. I'd managed 65,010 words (that includes maybe a few hundred words of notes and such) and then decided it was nothing but cheap & lame (& huge) piece of doodoo work--more of a cutting teeth kinda thing more than anything else. a practice run I guess ya'd call it, and a shitty one at that. it had all the s.king rip-off stuff like multiple crazy chapter titles and way off the wall flashbacks--and a lot of sex.

I read chunks of it lastnight and couldnt help but laugh.

still, it was like seeing an old friend. a friend with warts and body odor, but still a friend.

I dunno what Ill ever do with it.

found The Time After too. checked the first chapter and parts of the rest. this story could work if I were ever wont to finish it. Im sure some of you remember the tidbits I put here. Im sure others of you could give a flying crap, too. oh well, such is life.

almost finished with Dark Half. either my third or fourth reading. it took like 50 or 60 pages before I commited myself to finish it cuz it just didnt catch me until then. Ill be done with it tonight.

then I have my choice. went to the library today and got The Husband (Koontz), The Broker (Grisham), and Nine Stories (Salinger). I'd dug the fuck out of Catcher in the Rye so I figger Ill dig these 9 shorts.

also, while at the Shadyside Public Library with the 3 extremely big and old women working behind the counter, ordered the new S. King, Just Past Sunset (right?)--there'll be a phonecall one day soon when its back. all I gotta do is go get it and Ill be all kinds of crazy absorbed for a few days. plus I looked at a list of top 100 from '08 and ordered 3 other works by folks I never heard tell of. reader beware, eh.

got work early tomorror morning so my ass is headed for my reading chair for a bit, then sleepyland...

g'night all..............................
& for some reason, goo goo g'jube
