"Nothing says 'Feck off' like a big castle"

So, I've been researching castles for the last few days, 'cause what else am I supposed to do--I mean, besides finish Draft Two of my most recent opus--while recouping from the surgery thing? Also, there's this manor I need to find relative medieval costs to build.

Anyway, I've been surfing, see. And I found this cool site, mostly for kids, natch, but with a great array of castle pics here. But they didn't have a pic of the biggest castle that I have been in, so I had to find one, obviously.

Stirling Castle, in Stirling, Scotland.

If the name sounds familar, it's because that area was home to William Wallace, played by Mel Gibson in Braveheart, you know, before Mel got all god-crazy. I went there the summer after I graduated from college, which was in 19-mumbledy-mumble. I also visited Killin, Glencoe and some other Scottish places whose names I'd forgotten.

Yes, they really are that beautiful. sigh. Now I wanna go back to Scotland.
