Earth Day
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Not to be confused with Birthday, which, for me, is only a month or so away, but Earth Day was apparently yesterday . . . and today, and all this week, according to this list of activities in your neighborhood and mine.

So, what did you do for Earth Day?

I hung out with a friend as she bought a new bike 'cuz some a**holes stole hers, and then went grocery shopping. At home, I played around on the interthing and then cooked some dinner and watched a dvd with the spousal unit. Not earth shattering, but nothing really attuning myself to the environment, either.

I figure, like the dark red V Day, I can celebrate the Earth (or love) every day and don't have to relegate it to just one. So I reduce, reuse and recycle as best I can. I make sure lights are turned off when I leave a room, and I utilize power saver modes on all the elctronics and appliances that have them. I rarely turn the heat on, unless I can see my breath . . . as guests can often attest, and I've started car pooling on my way to work, at least a couple days a week. I also spend a good deal of time mocking the Preznit for continually saying there's no evidence of global warming.

What do you do?
