I started feeling much better today, so of course, tomorrow (early), it's time to board a plane for the return home.

The Husband and I got to Vermont and Ben&Jerry's, had a lovely dinner at an Italian restaurant, and a great breakfast at our B&B. Then we wandered down scenic Rte 1 on the way back to Massachusetts, passing through some historic districts (w/ houses dating to the early 1600s) like Lynn and Beverly, as well as some non-girly named towns like Newbury, and then through Salem, where we spent a second night on the road. As you might imagine, Salem was crawling with witches a few days before Hallowe'en. And it was cold; the wind chill hovered in the mid teens.

Today was a birthday party for the nieces. I got some good pics I'll share when they're developed (and I dropped a big hint to the 'rents about us needing a digital camera, too, maybe for x-mas . . .) played with and hugged a couple of cake-sticky kids, and gave them games and dinosaur books. I didn't even cough phlegm on 'em. Auntie Rachel Rulz!

Seriously, though, I'm looking forward to getting home, kicking off my sneakers, and spending some quality time feeding treats to the Boyz and letting them give me Purr Therapy (for the risidual cough and hoarseness) before I return to work on Monday.

Yay.
