The Next Move Toward Sanity

Via a story on Making Light, Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) has proposed a bill to roll back the worst abuses of the "Effective Terrorists Prosecution Act," which, a couple of months ago, gave the Chimp in Chief the power to torture and imprison people (even US citizens!) for as long as, and for whatever reason, he wanted. Senator Dodd's bill would restore the right of Habeas Corpus for the accused, bar information gained under torture from being used in prosecutions, and limit the authority of His Chimpness to reinterpret the Geneva Conventions however he likes.

Yay, Dodd!

And double yay, sanity!
