We're planning some fairly intense remodeling projects for the house we bought a year ago, specifically, turning the garage into an apartment, installing central air, and doing something drastic with the master bathroom. So, we've talked with our "prospective tentant" about specific designs for the garage, and I've researched home equity loans, gotten some quotes, and now we're starting to have contractors come in to do estimates/place bids/whatever it is they do before you give them any money, a contract is signed and work begins.

That was supposed to start today, with a contractor whose appointment was at 10am to look over the place.

He didn't show.

Sigh.

Update: The business's owner called around 4pm to apologize profusely, and say he'd meet us whenever we want. So we have another appointment set up for a week from Monday, which I've pre-taken-off from work so as to maximize appointments that day. [fingers crossed]Here's hoping.[/fingers crossed]
