"A New York state Senator is proposing a law to make it illegal to walk, jog or bike across the street while using an iPod, a BlackBerry or any other electronic device."

Every day, practically, there are reports of dumb things that people do: not looking before they cross the street, ducking under train-crossing barriers, and lighting cigarettes when covered with a flammable substance. But we don't make laws against people being stupid.

I'm kind of an advocate of people not driving when talking on their phones, as many studies have shown that drivers who are thus distracted get into more accidents than drivers who aren't. But while walking???

Seems overly Big Brotherish to me.
