Cold, Glorious Cold

Last night the temperature dipped to 35 degrees Fahrenheit (which is 1.67 degrees Celsius). This is definitely cold enough, even for me. I actually wore a jacket outside and turned on the heater to bring the indoor temperature up to somewhere around shirt sleeve comfortable (for me, anyway).

It was a two-cat night. Neither one went hunting; perhaps all the mice were hunkered down in their nice little nests and waiting for warmer weather. The birds were certainly quiet, as opposed to their normal raucous morning greetings.

Jasmine has grown the most incredible winter coat. She is half German Shepherd, half Golden Retriever. She gets the long wavy guard hairs of the retriever and the dense, dense undercoat of the shepherd. She looks a little like a woolly bear at the moment. When it rained a couple of days ago, she was outside for quite a while yet did not get wet down to the skin (except for her face).

Tomorrow I'm going to start my Holidailies entries with zero. I'm hoping one of you will explain to me how I do a Holidailies entry at the Holidailies site. If not, I guess I'll figure it out for myself.

Blessed, blessed coolth.
