Survived Wednesday

I've lost track of how many telephone calls I've answered today and how many problems I've either resolved myself or forwarded to the appropriate office. It's been a blur of faxes, phone calls, emails, manager requests and questions, questions, questions.

Tomorrow and the next day will be even worse. The issues easily resolved will have been laid to rest and the knottier problems will remain. Tempers will get shorter as customers demand immediate and/or impossible results; some employees will duck their responsibilities by holding hours-long staff meetings (read: lunches and get-togethers) rather than work on resolvoing problems.

I go home stressed-out and eroded away in spirit and body.

Then tomorrow morning it's up and back into the fray.
