INDA--finished

Inda by Sherwood Smith was a satisfactory book. By the end I was ready to order the next one, The Fox.

I read an interview with Sherwood Smith and it seems that she does have an issue with names and naming. She won't reveal her birth name, saying only that she gets mail by "Sherwood Smith" and gets paid "Sherwood Smith" and that's all we need to know.

I'm glad I wrote up the cheat sheet for names. I'm reading "The Magicians" and "The Lightning Thief" in the interim between her books. I'll need it to get back into remembering who is who.

She must have one heck of a storyboard that she works from. Her characters and plots are sophisticated and complex. Some of the peripheral characters are cardboard cutouts; but then, so are some in real life. Very few people are intentional and in the moment, so that everything and everyone is fully attended to and accepted in their reality, their wholeness.

Ancora imparo.
