Two new friends, aka Hacking Cough and Monster Sore Throat, have convinced me to stay home today. With any luck, there will be plenty of rest and liquids, and I will fight off the threatening bug. I do NOT want to miss work at this time, not with so much important stuff going on.

OTOH, could my desire to go to work possibly be that my office is air-conditioned, but my home is not (except for window A/C in bedroom)? The thought never occurred to me; why do you ask.

Ah, mixed emotions. Nice to be home; anxiety-producing to be using up illness benefits; quite comfy in my shorts and tank top and bare feet; hotter than hades this afternoon, with temps over 105 predicted.

Of course, there's always a shower to step into, to cool down. And if I'm sick, I don't have to visit the VA in the heat.

All these pros and cons are wearing me out. ;-) Have to go rest from all this mental exertion.
