I totally wimped out today. I was supposed to call someone back--a really difficult client, one who is making unreasonable demands, whining and sobbing; endlessly repeating the same story over and over (in a nearly impenetrable accent).

I really couldn't bring myself to do it, because I knew it would be 30-45 minutes of being an emotional punching bag. What she's requesting is outside the parameters of my area of expertise and operational control. But she just goes on and on and on...because she can. I can't hang up on her.

So I went home, leaving the callback request on my desk.

Like Scarlett O'Hara, I'll worry about it tomorrow. Where is Rhett Butler when you need him?
