Kindle R.I.P.

Last night, as I was reading, my Kindle froze. When I turned it off, it wouldn't turn back on. I left it on charge overnight, but it wouldn't respond this morning, either.

I've been reading the Kindle FAQ pages in Amazon's website. They recommend a hard re-set, so I'll try that when I get home. But I suspect that my Kindle is now just a piece of e-waste.

I'm not surprised; it's had a hard life, bounced around, stuffed into satchels, crammed into my purse, used for countless hours of reading. I feel I got good value for my money, and if it's not recoverable, I'll get another.

Maybe I should treat the new one a bit more gently.
