I usually pay bills at the very end of the month so they will take effect on the first of the following month, bills such as my mortgage and utilities which are due at that time.

Then about mid-month, around the second Wednesday, I review the family checking and savings, and pay the rest of them, paying them off completely each month.

I am getting a case of the nerves about this debt ceiling fiasco and have decided to pay the minimum required on everything, putting as much as I can into my savings account, letting the balances owed ride (even if they do accrue interest charges).

I wonder if other people feel the way I do.
