Things Slowly Coming to Center

Car repaired, back on the road again. Dan Gent still waiting for the engine for his car. N fussing over lack of service in the retirement home. Missed the Christmas pot luck at work and frankly my dear, after the birthday fiasco, I don't give a damn.

B broke her Coffee Press pot, so I bought her another. Oddly enough, the whole thing was less expensive than buying a replacement beaker. What's with that? Not complaining, however.

Traffic to and from the VA was insane--an hour and a half to go twenty miles. For much of the trip the speed was so slow the speedometer needle was resting at the bottom, below the 10 mph mark. When traffic finally speeded up to 30 mph it felt like we were flying.

My retirement letter still hasn't arrived, though the retirement website shows the correct date for my retirement. I'm getting so wound up, it's hard to sleep. We're talking about money and medical insurance--two critical items.

Continuing with walking in the morning, right after getting up, before the analytical part of my brain wakes up and starts working on rationalizations for not taking my walk today. Half awake, freezing my nether limbs and feet, I stumble along in the half-dark, feeling ultimately virtuous...and hopefully helping my heart to better health.

Time now to pay bills. The way things are going, I'll forget to pay something or subtract my check register incorrectly.

Frustration.
