Today is the second of a two-day conference. It's within driving range for those of us living in Los Angeles, so off we go, into the wild blue yonder (more like the boring gray freeway).

It will be a long day, during which I will no doubt once again ponder the question, "After 4,000 years of human civilization, why can't they invent a comfortable chair?" And other similar eternal questions.
