After my walk this morning, I went to visit N. After a trip of one hour and 55 minutes (one way) for a trip normally taking 40 minutes. That's what L.A. traffic is like these days.

We had a better than usual, pleasant visit.

The next part of my day was outstanding. Dan Gent and I had lunch to celebrate his upcoming birthday. It was great talking with him again. I have missed the nearly daily conversations we used to have, when we were both working at the same site.

When we retired, him first, those conversations ceased, I didn't realize until today how much I've missed those times. Today was lovely, for a short time talking again.

After a bit of housework and a short nap, I started making dinner, and what a nice surprise! It was a long distance call from New Orleans. Sue was on the phone, giving me the blow-by-blow "breaking news" about Isaac. We haven't spoken in quite a while and it was a pleasure to hear from her.

All in all, a truly lovely day. Thank you my friends.
