Here are some pictures of the amazing light and fog in the San Juans this weekend.
This is Otter Cove, as seen from the deck where the tubs are. My absolute favorite view.
Looking back toward the tubs from the main building. A very foggy day. I saw otters playing in the cove this morning.
The new owners have really renovated. This is the new deck.
Fog at the Lopez Dock.
The fog lifting, for a moment.
Amazing, ain't it?
More amazing.
This is the little peninsula that is to the left when viewed from the deck. There are yurts, geodesic tents, and campsites out there. Orca Yurt, farther out on the point, is the best place to be in a rainstorm.
This is the new outdoor performance space in Eastsound, Orcas Island, Washington. I met the guy who built it. He used a powerwasher to take the bark off the trees and make them so smooth.
Looking straight down one of those smooth trees. A very solid feeling, indeed.
