"Damn it, Jim, I'm a teacher, not a . . . "

I just got it.

When work gets crazy, because people are "creative problem solving" rather than sticking to the procedures we agreed to, and it makes more work for me, I say, "I don't have time." My first reaction is that I . . .just . . . don't . . . have the time to get on email, ask 7 people about their schedules, and when they can make a meeting that is outside the normal times, and blah blah blah . . .

But I just got it. I have the time. It's the ENERGY I don't have. After seven years and innumerable meetings to solve this problem and others like it, we still don't have a solution.

And guess what? That's not my problem. Infrastructure isn't my job. Damn it, Jim (the generic Jim, not the Bubba variety), I'm a teacher, not a personal assistant!
