I was just looking to have Gabriel, my next-door neighbor, watch my cats while I'm gone this weekend, and his mom Megan made me lunch! That was so nice. We got to talking and realized none of us had plans for the 4th, so she's off to the store for hotdogs and s'more stuff. Cool, huh? Then she gave me vanilla as I was making cookies and found I didn't have any. Of course, there are cookies in it for her family, but my goodness.

I feel like I finally have real neighbors.
