I went to a housewarming/engagement party for my friends, MA and MB. These women have been together for a long time, maybe 6 years, I don't actually remember. But they are cute and fabulous.

I've known MB since she was 9 years old. I was her first camp counselor, during my first summer at camp. 1985. We didn't meet again until 1994, when she was a teenager working at camp, and I had returned to interpret. She remembered me, and we struck up a friendship that has lasted.

She and MA registered their domestic partnership on August 8th. They have a certificate to prove it. I'm so happy for them.

And, drum roll, MB is pregnant through an anonymous donor. Three months along, and I knew it right away. Even while I was driving to the party, I thought, "I wonder if MB is pregnant. Oh well, that means I can practice my sidelying massage."

And she's pregnant.

They're wrangling about names if it's a boy, but they love Emily Mae for a girl.

I'm so happy for them. I can't wait to have them out to Port-au-Patois for a sunny island afternoon. Yay!
