I went cat happy at PetSmart today. I just couldn't take it anymore.

Molly, the girl cat, was scratching a few weeks back, and badly. Fleas. Or as Dexter and I used to call them, fleen. The fleen weren't bad, but Miss Molly kept scratching. Even after I'd combed her. Even after an application of Advantage. So I went ballistic on them fleen's asses.

I bought the Furminator. It's a very good comb that rakes out all the loose hair as well as the undercoat stuff that is lurking. Less hair that's shedding means less scratching to loosen hair.

I also bought hairball-helper cat treats. She won't lick that PetroMalt stuff off her paw for love or money, so I'm getting sneakier.

Third, I found anti-itch spray. While I may be able to hold her down once and spray this stuff on her as she struggles, subsequent attempts to corral her will be nigh on impossible. She hates anything that squirts, hisses, rattles or dispenses anything. But she's scratching her hair off around her neck, even though there are no fleen. I have to try something, and this is the something du jour.

I also spent $8 at Target on nothing, but that's to be expected.
