So, I did it, I got a perm. First one in about 20 years! I'm swimming more these days, and I wanted wash and wear. I have lots of natural curl, but it doesn't start until about ear level, and the front part always goes flat no matter how I style it.

As the picture shows, that piece of hair in the front did not "take" well. My stylist, Shawn, will redo it in a couple of days. The perm is very even everywhere else. I like it, though that bastard forelock had better come to the party once it's reprocessed.

Somehow, through all this, I did not miraculously lose 30 pounds or my Freddy Mercury jawline. I've come to terms with my nose, but that double chin/jowl thing has got to go. Elliptical trainer, here I come.

With all the (somewhat colored-over) gray I have, I would have thought my hair would get even curlier. Hmm. Good for now, though!
