My mom and I sat down today and filled out durable power of attorney forms for her and for my dad. I'm their go-to gal.

Whew. Grown-up stuff.

We'll get them signed and notarized soon.

Makes me think it's time for me to write my will, not that I have anything that would look good to anyone outside my family. But there are sentimental items that I would make sure are given away to family members before being sold for no reason.

You know, though, none of this makes me melancholy or anything. It just feels responsible and necessary. I'm good with it all.
