Souper

I'm having a soup party the day after finals are over. It's been interesting managing the guest RSVPs. Some people replied to the eVite. Some replied to the email that eVite sends out. Some walked up to me at school, expressed their disdain of email, and RSVPd in person.

Sigh.

I hope people took me seriously that they could bring things. I'm making two soups, but I need people to bring salad, bread, beverages, whatever. I am not supplying alcohol. Everyone has the complete ferry information so there is no confusion about when the last ferry leaves the south end.

It sucks to live in Tacoma and have to drive around from Seattle because you missed the last Tacoma ferry of the night.

The menu is clam chowder and a tomato-based vegan root vegetable soup. I have many veggie and vegan friends, and there's nothing bad about a healthy soup.

A few people want to be picked up at the ferry; I will have to enlist the help of other party-goers to make this happen. (Anyone but my mom, who got lost on the island once, slammed her thumbnail off in the car door, and drove around until someone helped her. I hate that story, I hate that it happened, so I keep Mom safely near me while in the dark on the Rock.)

After finals week, I just hope I have the energy to clean the place and cook, too. And I have to borrow a second soup pot from someone.

Party on, Wayne!
