Today's Getaway Car: Subaru Outback
Previous Entry :: Next Entry

Today's getaway car is a Subaru Outback, vintage unimportant as long as it has butt warmers in the seats.

Supplies would include:
- sleeping bag, rated to zero degrees (F or C, you pick)
- camping pillow
- JetBoil
- dehydrated meals
- chocolate
- paper journal and fountain pen
- headlamp
- really warm clothes, hat, and gloves
- firewood and matches or lighter

I'd drive up a mountain road and find a level campsite (Smithbrook frog pond, maybe?). Once there, I would start a fire, heat some water in the JetBoil, and take in the snowy sights as I drank a hot beverage. I'd write in my journal, slowly unwinding my thoughts onto the pages.

The moon would come out. I'd howl at it before snuggling into my sleeping bag for the night. In the morning I would dig the car out and take my unwound thoughts home.
