"The new therapist needs to be patient with herself and the process of assessment. It takes practice to feel comfortable asking questions in an organized manner, observing a client's posture, moving a person's body parts around, figuring out what tests to do and the order to do them in, and recording the information so it is not forgotten. Just like learning any other skill, it takes practice to perform a thorough assessment in a timely manner. The ultimate benefit of this process is that it provides the therapist with a road map so she has a clear sense of how to proceed with the treatment."

Whew! I don't have to be perfect, just perspicacious. That I can do.
