Movin' On Over

Well, I did it. With Nancy's help, and a lot of back pain, not to mention innumerable pitter-patters between #7 and #4, I have moved.

I'm still sitting amid the last bits of crap that I need to find homes for. Storage here is, generally, much better than at #7. However, there are stray belongings loitering on every surface.

Some cool things about my new place:

- upstairs bedroom has room for bed, office area, and TV-watching full-size futon area / guest accommodations

- all my yellow IKEA drapes fit the windows

- the little cubby storage upstairs is perfect for my camping gear

- I have room upstairs for a yoga/exercise ball/OmGym space

- I have an almost 270-degree view, most of it to the north and west

- tiny corner WC upstairs; no treacherous stairs in the middle of the night for to pee pee

- 50s-style kitchen cupboards to go with my 50s table and chairs, yeah!

- windows, windows everywhere

- kitties have already discovered how to get up on the beams and cross over to the high windows facing north

- indoor stairwell instead of outdoor

- room for all my bookshelves, books and knick-knacks galore

- no TV in the living room

There were some minor casualties, namely Oscar de la Hoya (the hoya plant). He lost some limbs when I tripped and almost dropped the pot. I broke the saucer, but salvaged the pot and the plant. He's hanging up contentedly now, after some pruning, propping, and potting soil.

Now to tend to my back. Everyone, please send up a positive thought for Nancy, without whom I never would have made this move in time.

Pics once everything is cleaned up.
