Wherein our heroine "gets a little into it"

Last night I did laundry. I thought, this is the last time I will do laundry at Doe Bay. I wasn't sad, just noticing.

Once the warm, dry clothes were back in my room, and I was folding them, I thought, I might as well pack most of my stuff. I only have to get through one full day and one half day before I go. So, in my usual way, I set aside the things I'd need for the next two days, then packed nearly everything else. (Dexter is rolling on the floor in hysterics, because he knows I will need to unpack at least three times to get things I need.)

I haven't had to unpack. Except once, for my headlamp, so I could read in bed. Otherwise, no panicked digging for buried necessities.

The room looks mighty spare, I must say.

It's all I can do not to put the packs on the bike today. But having my stuff out there makes me nervous. If I was absolutely sure I could get away with it, I'd have done it, though. Maybe if I pack it tonight, and then park it right next to my door...

Hmmm.

Naw.

Yeah.

I'll have to resolve that one later. Today I can wash the bike. Maybe that would help dispel the itchies.

I've got three massages today, bam-bam-bam. None so far for Monday morning, and that's just fine with me. I have already told the office I'm outta here at 2pm on Monday, so I bet I won't have anything. Whoop!

I've got a book to finish before I leave. I've got hugs to spread around. I've got cats to pet: How I will miss the feisty, too-cool Gorgonzola and the sassy-assed Mahakhat (from the streets of Bangkok!).

There is no way I can tell everyone how much their hospitality, support, commiseration, and laughter have sustained me this summer. Everyone made it good in some way or another. And if they also made it otherwise, I'm pretty much letting it go.

"My life is good, you old bag!" - Randy Newman.

Can I really be going home? Someone pinch me.

Just make sure it's in the right place.
