These are the things that my family has scheduled for the next few weeks:

1. Rory and I are going to go see "Full Monty" at La Petit Theatre in the French Quarter. The last time I took my husband to a show at this theatre he swore he'd never go back. It was "M. Butterfly" and the full frontal nudity at the end really upset my poor conservative husband. So why is he agreeing to go and see Full Monty?...A buddy of his is playing trumpet in the orchestra and Rory can not resist seeing Joe's reaction to this particular show! Besides, he owes me. (See item 2.)

2. Rory is playing 4 German Fests in October. That's right, almost every single weekend he has gigs and most of them are German Festivals. He has a goofy pair of leiderhosen, the equally goofy hats and says that he is making more money playing music in October than he has for the past 6 months. Teenage daughter and I refuse to be seen in public with him in the leiderhosen but he has promised to use the money to pay for the new maid. WooHoo!

3. Teenage daughter, my sister and I are going to the Vampire Le Stat Ball. All this is because daughter wants to go with a friend, (age 16), and I am not completely sure that this is really an appropriate activity for my 14 year old. So in the name of parental supervision, I am going to keep an eye on her. My sister is going with me so that I have someone to sit with and share snarky comments about the other ball attendees. Daughter informed me that we have to dress like vampires and she found it hilarious when I said "No, Problem". Any ideas on what type of satirical vampire outfit I should wear?

4. Son and I are going to the Angola Prison Rodeo next weekend. Yup, he and I are willingly going to a high security prison to watch prisoners compete in a rodeo. (And to watch friends compete in the Barrel Races)

Full frontal nudity, German Festivals, Vampire Ball, and Prison Inmates in a Rodeo...it's just never dull around here.
