New Years Resolutions, a tradition that dates back to the early Babylonians. Their favorite resolution was to return borrowed farm equipment. I’ve never made resolutions, never made a public show of promises to do anything special or even ordinary. It’s that whole accountability thing. I really hate saying I’ll do something, because I then really have to try and do it. Sometimes friends and family ask me to do something and because I’m to scared of upsetting or offending someone I say I’ll do it, then after days, weeks, sometimes months of nagging I reluctantly do what ever I said I would. Most of the time the requests are harmless, low effort on my part, something as simple as making a phone call or picking something up at the store. Sometimes the requests are difficult and time consuming. Whatever the request, something needs to change. I need to change. So to set precedents here are my News Years Resolutions!

Wait! What if my list is to long? Does that mean I have serious character flaws? Will I have to admit that I am not perfect and the world does not revolve around me? (just kidding, maybe?)

Ok here goes, after all, there is no law that I have to post this, right?
Should I number them? Ummm, I wonder, what IS the word limit? Jeez Cindy, Just write them down!

1. Say NO more often. Think about the request and if I can’t do something or do not have time, say NO.
2. When I do say yes, do whatever as soon as possible. Let the person know I will do it when time permits.
3. Eat better
4. Cut back on smoking, work toward quitting all together
5. Keep my house better organized
6. Try and be more tolerant and understanding
7. Be more financially aware.
8. Set a budget
9. Exercise more
10. Take a class
11. Read more, study work related material
12. Call my son more often.
13. Make the Dr.’s appointments and actually keep them!
14. Take my medication, EVERYDAY
15. Start taking care of myself.
That’s about it. I’ll let you know how it goes
