me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

L'Shana Tova

Just got back from a Rosh Hashonah visit to my sister’s new house in Philadelphia, where we ate fresh-baked challah (one by my sister, one by my brother-in-law),apples dipped in honey, and stuffed cabbage, so wanted to wish everyone a sweet and happy new year. Listening to the news while I write this; nothing huge, but nothing that’s not depressing, either, so it’s a little difficult to look ahead optimistically. Still, my Four Fabulous Nephews are doing well, as are my goddaughter and my brand-new great-niece, and my other sister who married the retired hog farmer and now has grand plans to bring organic farming to central Georgia, and my brother (who’s now a grandfather, ha!). So I’m trying to keep hoping this year will be different and might actually be the year the world will take a step or two on the path toward actual peace. And for each of you, may it be a year filled with work worth doing, love, and lots of laughter.
