me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Quick glimpse

Only a brief look at the river this morning, from the rented car I'll be driving to New England in a few minutes. But an amazing sight. Directly across from where I usually sit to drink my tea are 2 identical buildings, about 15 stories, big and blocky. As I drove to the end of the street and stopped at a light facing them, the heavy clouds we've had for the last few days were starting to break up. The left building was in sunlight, its twin in shadow. The sun hit nothing else on the bank, just that one glowing building. For only about half a minute. Then the clouds closed again. Amazing.
