me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

SNOW!!!

Down by the river earlier it was bright and sunny, though very cold. A few minutes ago clouds blew in. Just looked out the window and it's snowing! Stopping already, and the forecast didn't mention a thing about it. But since it's been a depressingly warm winter so far with global warming undeniable and unforgettable even for a moment, this is a joy to see. Against all evidence I've been in an optimistic mood lately, personally, politically, all kinds of ways. And this quick snow -- which has already stopped as I've been writing this -- is making me inordinately cheerful.
