me in the piazza

I'm a writer, publishing both as SJ Rozan and, with Carlos Dews, as Sam Cabot. (I'm Sam, he's Cabot.) Here you can find links to my almost-daily blog posts, including the Saturday haiku I've been doing for years. BUT the blog itself has moved to my website. If you go on over there you can subscribe and you'll never miss a post. (Miss a post! A scary thought!) Also, I'll be teaching a writing workshop in Italy this summer -- come join us!

Fat Tuesday, Super Tuesday, Big Blue Tuesday

Today is all those things: the end of Carnival (= Mardi Gras) and the last day before Lent; Primary Day in 24 states (the news keeps saying, "More than 20 states," which makes me pause in wonderment) and, here in NYC, ticker-tape parade day to celebrate the Giants' inexplicable Super Bowl clobbering of the Patriots. The first doesn't really affect me and I'm skipping the third, but as to the second, I voted already and the joint was jumpin'. I live in an activist neighborhood, so turnout is always good, but this was double what I usually see for a primary. I want all of you in those 22 states to be able to report you voted, if anyone asks, so get out there!
